The sites of spinal CSF leaks may be single or multiple. We presented a case of suspected spontaneous intracranial hypotension received Tc-DTPA radionuclide cisternography for further evaluation. The image findings are positive and provide an important clue to treat the patient. Radioisotope cisternography is a useful tool to diagnose and localize cerebrospinal fluid leakage in a case of intracranial hypotension syndrome.

The Value of Changing Position in the Detection of CSF Leakage in Spontaneous Intracranial Hypotension Using Tc-99m DTPA Scintigraphy: Two Case Reports
Radionuclide Cisternography (RNC) is of potential value in pointing out the sites of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage in patients with spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH). In the current report, we present two patients who underwent RNC for suspected CSF leakage. Both patients underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and RNC for evaluation. We describe a simple method to increase the ...

The authors present the case of a 55-year-old man suffering from intractable spontaneous intracranial hypotension, in whom conservative treatment with 19 weeks of bed rest was not effective. In this period the patient twice underwent surgery for bilateral chronic subdural hematoma, a complication of spontaneous intracranial hypotension. Conventional radionuclide cisternography, magnetic resonan...
متن کامل3D-CT Epidurography Can Detect Cerebrospinal-Fluid Leakage in a Patient with Spontaneous Intracranial Hypotension: A Case Report
Spontaneous intracranial hypotension presents with many symptoms including orthostatic headache, dizziness, and nausea due to cerebrospinal-fluid (CSF) leakage from the spinal dural sac. Although CSF leakage can be estimated by radioisotope (RI) cisternography or computed tomography/magnetic resonance imaging myelography, it is not easy to detect the leakage point using these modalities. Here, ...

UNLABELLED Radionuclide cisternography is an indispensable examination to detect cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage in patients suspected of having spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH). However, it sometimes fails to demonstrate the site of CSF leakage, and in such cases, early bladder visualization is utilized for the diagnosis of SIH as an indirect finding. The aim of this work is to imp...
متن کاملIs early bladder activity in radionuclide cisternography an indirect sign of spontaneous intracranial hypotension or sequence of lumbar puncture?
Spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH) is characterized by severe postural headache and low cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pressure. Radionuclide cisternography (RC) is of some value in diagnosing CSF leakage causing SIH. However, the sensitivity of RC is too low to demonstrate the site of leakage. In these cases, the early appearance of the radioactivity in the urinary bladder has also been use...
